John Sexton R.I.P.

Barryroe GAA members were saddened to learn of John Sexton's passing earlier today. John was the Club's PRO from 2001 to 2009 and always gave great coverage to the Club in his famous Courtmacsherry Notes in the Southern Star every week over many decades.
John passed away peacefully, in the exceptional care of the staff at Care Choice Nursing Home, Clonakilty. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Kearney), and dear father of Rosemarie (Murphy), Kevin, John, Micheal, Tomás, Elizabeth (Harrington), and Olive (Healy), brother of the late Fr. Michael O.S.A., Lawrence, Sr. Mary Monica (Good Shepherd), Peggy, infant sister Eileen, and nephew Kieran. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Fr. Tom O.S.A., sister-in-law Joan, daughters-in-law, Mary, Joan, Marie, Nicola, and sons-in-law Anthony, John and Joe, grandchildren, Ailbhe, Tomás, Clodagh, Fergal, David, Claire, Colm, Carolanne, Michael, Conor, Elizabeth May, Cara, Cian, Tadhg, Sarah, Michael, GraceAnn, Heather, Joshua, Killian and Robyn, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.
Reposing in Holland’s Funeral Home, Barryroe (P72FY88) on Tuesday, January 14th, from 4 pm to 6 pm and Wednesday, January 15th, from 5 pm to 7 pm followed by prayers at 7 pm. Requiem mass Thursday, January 16th, Sacred Heart Church, Courtmacsherry (P72 W259) at noon followed by burial afterwards at Timoleague Abbey.
