Clonakilty, 19:30PM

Barryroe 0-17 Kilbrittain 0-17

There was no separating Barryroe and Kilbrittain in the opening game of the Premier Junior Hurling Championship played at a superbly prepared Clonakilty GAA Club on Friday evening last. Over the hour the sides were level on twelve occasions. Kilbrittain had threatened to kick for home as early as the 41' minute when they led by 0-14 to 0-11, but some great scores from Captain fantastic David Murphy and half-forward Tomas Ó Buachalla had quelled Kilbrittain's surge by the 47'. A titanic struggle ensued for the remainder where no quarter was asked or given and every score was hard won. Deep in stoppage time, the black and ambers were confident of victory until the man of the match Olan O'Donovan slotted over a difficult free at his ease. The referee swiftly concluded proceedings with a draw a fair result for both teams. After the disappointment of the football last weekend this was a super performance. Well done to the panel of players and management team.
